Felder Ranch

This spectacular property has been continuously operated as a cattle ranch by the same family for over 120 years. The property includes oak woodlands, grasslands and two perennial creeks supporting a variety of plant and wildlife species, including the endangered CA red-legged frog. The ranch is within a Priority Conservation Area and is threatened by residential subdivision and conversion to vineyard.

Status:

The Felder family is working with the Sonoma Land Trust to establish a permanent conservation easement over the ranch. To date, the Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program has committed $2.75 million to the project and additional funding is likely to be secured during 2021.
