Abbey of New Clairvaux
The “Abbey” is an operating Trappist monastery established in 1955. The grounds contain over 400 acres of orchards, row crops, and vineyards as well as 2.5 miles of critical riparian habitat along Deer Creek and China Slough.

West of Highway 99 and approximately 16 miles northwest of Chico, Tehama County
Size: 595 acres
Price: $4.275 million
Outcome:
An agricultural conservation easement with the Northern California Regional Land Trust was recorded over the property in 2023. Easement funding was provided by the Sustainable Agricultural Lands Conservation Program.
