Foss Lake

This property is part of a large wetland complex and contains sensitive species such as Least Bell’s Vireo. Habitat types include alkali marsh, southern willow scrub, mulefat scrub, freshwater marsh, seasonal open water, and nonnative grassland. Pilgrim Creek, a tributary of the San Luis Rey River, flows through the central portion of the site.

Nearly surrounded by conservation lands, the property is located on the northern side of the City of Oceanside in San Diego County.

Price: $1.58 million

Outcome:

The land was transferred to the CA Department of Fish & Wildlife as an addition to the Pilgrim Creek Ecological Preserve.
