Stornetta Brothers Coastal Ranch

This spectacular coastal ranch was historically used for cattle grazing and irrigated farming.  The ranch includes over two miles of coastline and an offshore island, and is bisected by the Garcia River and Estuary. The property was added to the California Coastal National Monument in 2014.

Adjacent to the Point Arena Lighthouse and Manchester Beach State Park, Mendocino County

Price: $7.7 million

Outcome:

Fee title to two-thirds of the ranch was transferred to the Bureau of Land Management subject to a long-term grazing lease. The balance of the property will continue to be operated as a productive farm protected with an agricultural conservation easement.
